Technical Description

The Siemens QRC1 Flame Detector uses a UV-sensitive semiconductor diode that detects ultraviolet radiation emitted by burner flames. The radiation is concentrated by a quartz glass lens onto the diode’s active surface, generating an electrical signal that indicates flame presence.

An integrated electronic preamplifier amplifies the flame signal to the level required by the burner control system. This ensures stable detection and reliable burner operation even when flame intensity fluctuates.

The detector is designed for frontal or lateral illumination, allowing flexible installation depending on the burner design.

When connected to a burner controller, the QRC1 continuously monitors the burner flame. If the flame signal is lost, the burner control system immediately initiates a safety shutdown to prevent unsafe combustion conditions.
