Product Overview
The Siemens RAR flame detector series is designed for monitoring yellow-flame oil burners used in industrial combustion systems. These sensors detect the visible light emitted by oil flames and transmit a signal to the burner control unit to confirm flame presence during ignition and burner operation.
RAR detectors are commonly used in medium and large-capacity oil burners, where reliable flame monitoring is essential for safe combustion and burner protection.
The sensor contains a photocell protected by safety glass, which detects the light emitted by the burner flame and converts it into an electrical signal that is processed by the burner controller.
These detectors are typically used with Siemens burner control units such as LAL, LAE1, LAE10, LOK16, and LFS1.1 flame amplifier systems, making them widely used in industrial boilers and heating equipment.
The detector housing is made of durable dust-proof duroplast, ensuring reliable operation even in demanding industrial environments.

Technical Description
The Siemens RAR flame detector uses a photocell sensing element that detects the visible light emitted by yellow oil flames inside the combustion chamber. When the burner flame is present, the photocell generates a signal that is transmitted to the burner control system.
This signal confirms flame presence during burner startup and operation. If the flame signal disappears, the burner control unit immediately shuts down the burner system to prevent unsafe combustion conditions.
The detector is designed for industrial oil burner applications, particularly in large combustion systems where accurate flame supervision is required.
RAR detectors are usually installed on the burner housing using a flange and clamp assembly, allowing the sensor to observe the flame directly through a viewing port.
