Product Overview
Siemens SKP55 Gas Actuators are electro-hydraulic actuators designed for use with Siemens VG series gas valve bodies in industrial and commercial burner systems. These actuators combine safety shut-off, pressure regulation, and air-gas ratio control in a single compact unit, helping ensure stable and efficient combustion performance.
The SKP55 actuator maintains a constant air-to-gas ratio by controlling differential gas pressure relative to combustion air pressure, ensuring the correct fuel mixture even when airflow changes during burner operation.
When powered, the actuator opens the valve gradually to allow controlled gas flow. If power is interrupted, the actuator closes immediately to provide fast safety shut-off, protecting the burner system from unsafe operating conditions.
Because one actuator can perform multiple functions (shut-off, regulation, and ratio control), the SKP55 reduces the number of components required in a burner gas train, making the installation more compact and efficient.

Technical Description
The Siemens SKP55 actuator works with VG gas valve bodies to regulate gas pressure based on the pressure difference measured across the air duct. This differential-pressure control ensures that the gas flow always remains proportional to combustion air flow, maintaining the correct air-fuel ratio across the burner’s operating range.
The actuator includes a differential pressure governor, allowing the burner to maintain stable combustion even when air pressure conditions change or when there are fluctuations in combustion chamber pressure.
It is commonly used in recuperative burners, burners with variable air flow systems, and systems where air pressure does not directly represent airflow, ensuring precise combustion control.
