The pump incorporates a pressure regulating valve with a mechanical cut-off function, allowing it to control the oil pressure supplied to the burner nozzle and stop fuel flow during shutdown conditions.

A precision gear set driven by the burner motor draws oil from the fuel tank through a built-in filter, then transfers it to the pressure regulating valve. The valve controls the pressure supplied to the nozzle line while excess oil is automatically returned to the tank or suction port depending on the installation configuration.

Technical Description

The Suntec AJ Oil Pump operates using a gear set driven by the burner motor that draws oil from the tank through an integrated filter and transfers it to the pressure regulating valve.

The pressure regulating valve controls the oil pressure delivered to the burner nozzle line. Oil that is not required by the burner nozzle is automatically bypassed through the valve and returned either to the return line in a two-pipe system or back to the suction side of the pump in a one-pipe installation.

During burner start-up, oil initially flows through a bleed slot in the piston until the pump speed increases and pressure builds up. Once the required pressure is reached, the valve opens and supplies oil to the nozzle line. During shutdown, the valve closes automatically when the pump speed drops, ensuring reliable fuel cut-off and safe burner operation.
