Product Overview
The Suntec AP2 Oil Pump is a two-mode pressure pump designed for oil burners operating with two firing rates. It allows the burner to operate at low-fire and high-fire pressure levels, improving combustion efficiency and burner performance.
The pump uses a precision gear set mechanism to draw oil from the tank through an integrated filter and deliver it to the burner nozzle line. Fuel pressure is controlled by two spool regulating valves, each dedicated to a specific pressure mode.
Switching between low and high pressure is handled by a normally-open bypass solenoid valve. When the solenoid is not energized, the bypass channel remains open and the pump operates in low-pressure mode. When the solenoid is energized, the bypass closes and the high-pressure valve determines the nozzle pressure.
The AP2 pump does not include an internal cut-off function, so burner systems typically use an external solenoid valve for fuel shut-off.
The pump is compatible with domestic heating oil, kerosene, HVO biofuel, and B30 biofuel blends, making it suitable for modern burner installations.

Technical Description
The Suntec AP2 Oil Pump operates with a gear set driven by the burner motor. As the gears rotate, oil is drawn from the tank through a built-in filter and delivered to the nozzle line.
Two pressure regulating valves manage the pump’s pressure levels. In low-pressure mode, the normally-open bypass solenoid allows oil to pass through the low-pressure regulator to the nozzle. When the solenoid valve is energized, the bypass closes and pressure increases, enabling the high-pressure regulator to control the nozzle pressure.
This system enables two-stage burner operation, allowing burners to switch between low and high firing rates depending on heating demand.
