Product Overview
The Suntec AP3 Oil Pump is designed for two-stage oil burner applications where the burner operates at two firing rates using a single nozzle line. The pump provides two pressure modes (low fire and high fire) to improve combustion efficiency and burner performance.
The pump uses a precision gear mechanism to draw fuel oil from the tank through a built-in filter and deliver it to the burner nozzle line. Fuel pressure is controlled by two spool regulating valves, one for each pressure mode.
Switching between low and high pressure is achieved by a normally-open bypass solenoid valve. When the solenoid is not energized, the pump operates in low-pressure mode. When the solenoid is energized, the bypass closes and the high-pressure regulator controls the nozzle pressure.
The AP3 pump does not include an internal cut-off function, so an external solenoid valve is typically used in the fuel line for safe burner shutdown.
It is compatible with fuels such as domestic heating oil, kerosene, HVO, and B30 biofuel blends, making it suitable for modern industrial heating systems.

Technical Description
The Suntec AP3 Oil Pump operates using a gear set driven by the burner motor. The rotating gears draw fuel oil from the storage tank through an integrated filter and transfer it to the burner nozzle line.
Two pressure regulating valves manage the pump’s dual-pressure operation. When the bypass solenoid valve is not energized, the bypass channel remains open and the pump works in low-pressure mode. When the solenoid is energized, the bypass channel closes, pressure builds up, and the high-pressure valve determines the nozzle pressure.
The pump also includes a special pressure outlet on the cover that provides nozzle pressure readings during high-pressure mode and dumping pressure during low-pressure mode.
